Job summary

Teaching Personnel seeks a Learning Support Assistant in Alton to join our primary school teams. The role supports Year R–6 pupils, with duties including aiding classroom activities, resources, and creating an inclusive learning environment. Start date October/November 2026; hours are 8:30am–3:30pm, Monday to Friday, part time.

DBS checks are required and paid statutory holiday is included. Ideal candidates will have experience with primary ages, strong communication and teamwork, and a genuine

Qualifications

• Experience working with primary children KS1–KS2.
• Caring, patient and adaptable mindset.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• SEN experience desired but not essential.
• Passion for helping children learn and grow.
• Basic safeguarding knowledge; CPD training provided.

• Support individual pupils inside and outside the classroom.
• Assist with classroom activities and resources.
• Help create a positive, inclusive learning environment.

About the Role:

One of our lovely primary schools based in Alton is looking for a passionate, dedicated and motivated LSA to work alongside the Year R – 6 teams to support a variety of children with different learning abilities and needs.

Start Date:

October/November 2026

Salary:

£92.63 a day

Hours:

8:30am – 3:30pm Monday to Friday (part time)

To be considered you must obtain an enhanced child only DBS and complete additional vetting checks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supporting individual pupil/s inside and out of the classroom
• Assisting with classroom activities and resources
• Helping to create a positive and inclusive learning environment
• Supporting pupils with additional needs to develop emotional and academically
• Assisting with organising and tidying the classroom when necessary

What We’re Looking For:

• Experience working with primary children (KS1 – KS2)
• A caring, patient, and adaptable approach
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Experience supporting SEN children is desired but not essential
• A genuine passion for helping children learn and grow
• Basic knowledge of safeguarding and child protection principles (CPD training provided)
