Job summary

Master Class Education is recruiting a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to support a Year 2 pupil with autism in a mainstream primary school in Crawley. This full-time, term-time role starts ASAP and offers a rewarding chance to make a difference in a child’s learning and development.

You will work with the class teacher and SENCO to provide nurturing, consistent support, helping the pupil access lessons, build independence and confidence, and feel safe and included at school.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting a pupil with autism is desirable.
• Patience, calmness and compassion are essential.
• Ability to build trusting relationships with a pupil is important.
• Team player with good communication with teachers and SENCO.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one support throughout the school day.
• Support the pupil to access the Year 2 curriculum.
• Help develop communication, social and emotional skills.
• Encourage independence and positive learning behaviours.
• Support with transitions and changes to routine.
• Help manage and regulate emotions and behaviour in a calm and positive way.
• Build a trusting and consistent relationship with the pupil.
• Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider school team.

We are currently recruiting for a full-time Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to support a Year 2 pupil with autism within a welcoming and inclusive mainstream primary school in the Crawley area.

This is a rewarding opportunity for a caring, patient and committed individual who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs and helping them reach their full potential.

The Role

You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to provide consistent, nurturing support to the pupil throughout the school day. The role will involve helping the child to access learning, develop independence and confidence, and feel safe and included within the classroom and wider school environment.
