Job summary

Academics are recruiting a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant for a Year 4 pupil with high tariff ALN at a primary school in Cowbridge. The role starts in October 2026 and is temporary, with potential for long‑term continuation depending on funding and pupil progress.

You will work closely with the class teacher, ALNCo, and external specialists to implement an individualised plan, support academic progress, emotional wellbeing, and social integration, and assist with transitions across the day.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months' experience supporting children with ALN/complex needs, ideally in a 1:1 role.
• Enhanced DBS clearance or willingness to apply through Academics.
• Qualifications or training in SEN, ALN, or behaviour support (desirable).
• Strong communication, resilience, and a calm, empathetic approach.

This position starts in October 2026 and will run on a temporary basis, with potential for long-term continuation depending on funding and pupil progress.
