ALN Teaching Assistant Roles - Bridgend

Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting pupils with Additional Learning Needs (ALN)? Academics are currently recruiting ALN Teaching Assistants for a range of opportunities across primary schools in Bridgend and the surrounding areas.

We work closely with a wide variety of local schools who regularly come to Academics with Teaching Assistant vacancies, including 1:1 support, general classroom roles, small-group interventions and specialist ALN support.

The Roles

As an ALN Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities could include:

  • Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with ALN
  • Supporting pupils to access the curriculum and classroom activities
  • Working alongside the class teacher and wider support team
  • Helping pupils develop confidence, independence and communication skills
  • Supporting positive behaviour and emotional regulation
  • Delivering targeted interventions where appropriate
  • Adapting activities to meet individual learning needs
  • Supporting pupils with social, emotional and educational development

We're Looking For
  • Previous experience working with children in a primary school
  • Experience supporting pupils with ALN/SEN is highly desirable
  • Experience as a Teaching Assistant, LSA or similar

  • Strong communication and teamwork skillsThe ability to build positive relationships with pupils
  • Confidence supporting a range of learning and behavioural needs
  • A genuine passion for helping children reach their potential
