Job summary

TeacherActive is seeking an ALN 1:1 Teaching Assistant in Swansea to support pupils with ALN, including MLD and ASD, on a 1:1 basis. The role offers day-to-day and temporary part-time cover starting ASAP.

You will work within a dedicated Specialist Teaching Facility, following tailored learning strategies and contributing to inclusive, small-class interventions. PAYE salary is £85.50–£90 per day.

• Desirable TA qualification or equivalent.
• Experience supporting ALN learners.
• Experience providing 1:1 support to pupils with MLD/ASD.

About the Role

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a secondary school in Swansea that has a highly regarded Specialist Teaching Facility (STF) supporting pupils with ALN.

The provision has a strong focus on inclusion, small-class learning and personalised support, with tailored literacy, numeracy and communication interventions designed around individual learning needs.

The school is looking for an ALN 1:1 Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated support to pupils with needs including MLD, ASD and other additional learning needs.

Opportunities may include day-to-day and temporary part-time cover, with the potential for the right candidate to progress into longer-term or permanent full-time opportunities.

The Successful ALN 1:1 Teaching Assistant Will Have:

• A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent is desirable
• Experience supporting children or young people with ALN
• Experience providing 1:1 support to pupils with MLD, ASD or additional learning needs
• A patient, nurturing approach to individual learning and development
• Strong communication skills and the ability to follow tailored learning strategies
• A flexible, positive and adaptable approach
