Job summary

Academics is seeking experienced ALN Teaching Assistants to support primary schools across Newport. You will assist pupils with ALN/SEN on a one-to-one or small-group basis, coordinating with teachers to deliver effective support in classrooms.

We offer long-term and flexible assignments, immediate and September start dates, and a simple timesheet process with holiday pay included. A dedicated consultant will support you throughout your placement.

Qualifications

• Previous experience supporting children with ALN/SEN
• The ability to confidently support pupils on a one-to-one or small-group basis
• A calm, patient and consistent approach
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• The ability to work effectively alongside teachers and school staff
• An enhanced DBS, with Update Service registration desirable
• Current Education Workforce Council (EWC) registration
• Two professional references

We are currently working with a number of primary schools that are looking for reliable and experienced Teaching Assistants to provide high-quality support to pupils with Additional Learning Needs (ALN).
