Job summary

Aspire People is recruiting a dedicated Learning Mentor for a school in Lutterworth. You will provide targeted support to help pupils engage with education and develop essential skills to succeed.

Role involves 1:1 and small-group support, building strong relationships, and assisting pupils facing barriers to learning, SEN/SEMH needs, or behavioural challenges. You will work alongside teachers to create a calm, positive learning environment and support pupil potential.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children or young people is essential.
• Experience in SEN/SEMH or behavioural support is desirable.
• Ability to build relationships and support emotional wellbeing.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils.

Learning Mentor - Lutterwort

Location: Lutterworth

Pay: £105 per day

Working Pattern: Monday-Friday, 5 days a week

Start Date: ASAP / dependent on availability

Aspire People have partnered with a specialist school in Lutterworth who are looking for a dedicated, patient and experienced Learning Mentor to join their team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys building strong relationships with children and young people and has experience supporting pupils who may face barriers to learning, behavioural challenges, SEN or SEMH needs.

The Role

As a Learning Mentor, you will provide targeted support to help pupils engage with education and develop the skills they need to succeed.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing 1:1 and small-group support


• Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils


• Helping pupils overcome barriers to learning


• Supporting emotional wellbeing and confidence


• Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement


• Helping pupils develop their independence and social skills


• Supporting pupils who may have SEN, SEMH or behavioural needs


• Working alongside teachers and other support staff


• Helping create a calm, safe and positive learning environment


• Encouraging pupils to reach their individual potential

We're Looking For

Previous experience working with children or young people is essential.

The ideal candidate will:

• Have experience working in an educational, SEN, SEMH, youth or support setting


• Be confident supporting pupils with additional or behavioural needs


• Be patient, calm and resilient


• Have excellent communication and relationship-building skills


• Be consistent and confident when setting boundaries


• Be passionate about supporting young people


• Be adaptable and able to respond to individual needs


• Be reliable and committed to working Monday-Friday
