Job summary

GSL Education's Wirral branch is seeking a Learning Mentor to join our supportive pastoral team at a partner school in Wirral. This is a full-time, term-time only role committed to helping pupils overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.

You will provide targeted pastoral support and mentoring, work with students, staff and families to promote engagement, wellbeing and attendance, and assist with SEND needs and tailored interventions inside and outside the classroom.

Qualifications

  • Passionate about supporting young people to succeed.
  • Experience in working with children or young people (education or youth settings desirable).
  • Able to build strong, positive relationships with pupils and adults.
  • Demonstrates empathy, patience, and resilience.
  • An effective team player.
  • Possesses strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Experience supporting pupils with additional needs or delivering mentoring interventions would be highly advantageous.

About the Role

We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Learning Mentors to join our supportive pastoral team at a thriving schools in Wirral (CH41-CH49) This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people by helping them overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.

As a Learning Mentor, you will provide targeted pastoral support and mentoring to pupils, working closely with students, staff, and families to promote engagement, positive behaviour, attendance, and wellbeing across the school community.

You will also support pupils with additional needs, including SEND, and play a key role in delivering tailored interventions designed to improve outcomes both academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide pastoral support and mentoring to pupils across the school
