Qualifications

  • Previous experience in manufacturing or production environments.
  • Knowledge of plant and equipment operations.

  • Understanding of ISO standards (9001, 14001, 18001).

Purpose of the Role

Purpose of the Role

As part of the site production team, the Leading Hand focuses on delivering and maintaining exceptional SHE (Safety, Health, and Environmental) standards while meeting financial and operational targets. The role ensures safe operation of the plant, efficient production processes, and compliance with company standards. The Leading Hand supports the Production Manager and acts as a key link between management and the workforce, promoting flexibility and high standards across all operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise operational activities within the plant.
  • Manage day-to-day plant operations and haulage engagement.
  • Ensure compliance with SHE standards and performance targets.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement safe systems of work.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and operational efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate records of production, quality, and environmental performance.
  • Coordinate with maintenance teams for planned and reactive maintenance.
  • Monitor and manage plant housekeeping standards.
  • Assist in training and development of team members.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Knowledge & Skills
Essential
