Job summary

BAM Ground Engineering is recruiting a Senior Utility Surveyor to lead PAS 128 utility surveys and detection services. You will drive project delivery, mentor junior staff, and help grow our utility surveying capability across UK projects.

You will use GPR, GPS, total stations, and CAD outputs to deliver accurate survey data, reports, and drawings for clients, with travel as required.

Qualifications

• Multiple years of experience delivering utility surveys, preferably in a senior or leadership role.
• Strong understanding of PAS 128 standards and utility surveying practices.
• Experience with modern surveying techniques and equipment (GPR, locating systems, GPS).
• Ability to mentor junior surveyors and manage project teams.
• Clean and valid driving license; willingness to travel nationwide.

Responsibilities

• Lead utility survey projects from start to finish meeting high standards.
• Provide specialist technical support to ensure delivery on time, budget and quality.
• Utilise modern surveying methods and equipment (total stations, GPS, GPR).
• Record underground utilities and produce PAS 128 compliant outputs.
• Deliver survey reports to Project Managers and CAD Operators per standards.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships and provide technical advice.
• Mentor junior surveyors and support their development.
• Ensure quality checks and smooth transition to final deliverables.
