Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Principal Town Planner to lead planning applications for major infrastructure across the UK with a focus on DCOs. The role supports hybrid working and can be based in multiple offices including Chesterfield.

You will lead multi-disciplinary teams, provide planning and advisory services, build client relationships, and contribute to successful tenders while ensuring quality and safety in delivery.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to write planning statements and design and access statements.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for client interactions and authorities.
• Experience leading planning consent applications for large infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead and assist in the delivery of major development applications.
• Coordinate multi-disciplinary teams across project types.
• Submit and manage planning applications with local authorities and stakeholders.
• Provide planning advice on consent requirements and permitted development rights.
• Develop planning feasibility reports and consent strategies.
• Lead client relationships and business development activities.
