Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Principal Town Planner to lead infrastructure planning projects across the UK, with a focus on DCOs. You will join a national Town Planning team, delivering planning applications for energy, transport, water and major developments.

The role supports hybrid working and can be based in Birmingham, Cardiff, London or other offices. You will manage client relationships, coordinate multi-disciplinary teams, and provide planning advice and consent strategies.

Qualifications

• Degree in Town Planning or related discipline.
• RTPI membership or an equivalent professional body.
• Significant experience leading planning applications for large infrastructure projects.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and stakeholder liaison skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver major development applications across the UK.
• Coordinate multi-disciplinary teams and manage planning consent processes.
• Prepare statements and Design and Access Statements for applications.
• Develop client relationships and contribute to bid/tender activities.
• Collaborate with Environmental Impact Assessment teams and stakeholders.
• Oversee project management and ensure health and safety standards.
