Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Principal Town Planner to lead planning applications for major infrastructure projects across the UK, with a focus on DCOs. The role supports a national Town Planning team and offers hybrid working with base locations across multiple offices, including Cardiff.

You will guide feasibility, consent strategies, and statements, while collaborating with stakeholders and environmental teams. RTPI membership and senior planning experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Degree in Town Planning or related discipline.
• Membership of RTPI or equivalent professional body.
• Significant experience leading planning consent applications for large infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver major development applications and coordinate multi-disciplinary teams.
• Provide planning advice on consent requirements and permitted development rights; write statements.
• Contribute to business development and client relationship building; lead tenders.
