Job summary

Leonardo UK is seeking a Lead Supportability Engineer to lead a team of Supportability Engineers, delivering a wide range of analysis and advisory work across IPTs to ensure program readiness.

The role encompasses reliability, maintainability, testability and safety analyses, production support, and through-life cost strategies, with a strong emphasis on continuous improvement and mentoring junior team members. Hybrid working arrangements are available.

Qualifications

• Degree in an engineering or science discipline.
• Experience in industry/defence or related field.
• Strong experience leading and developing teams.
• Commercial and business awareness.
• Experience in engineering management and delivery of project work packages.
• Ability to manage complex situations with sound judgement.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of Supportability Engineers delivering a wide range of work packages.
• Advise on Supportability requirements to IPTs and provide analysis and guidance.
• Develop reliability models for electronic, power, RF, digital and mechanical systems.
• Conduct FMEA/FMECA analyses and propose corrective actions.
• Carry out maintainability, testability, and safety analyses and support life cycle management.
• Contribute to production support data analysis (FRACAS) and root cause/action programs.
• Support the development of through-life cost modelling and life cycle strategies.
