Job summary

AECOM Water is seeking a Principal Structural Engineer in the UK to join a dynamic, multidisciplinary team. You can base yourself in one of our UK offices with a flexible hybrid working model.

The role focuses on delivering high-value water infrastructure projects and AMP8 programmes across major clients and Tier 1 contractors. You will lead the structural design, mentor team members, and collaborate with civil, mechanical, electrical and process engineers to deliver robust solutions from

Qualifications

• Degree in civil and structural engineering.
• Membership or working towards ICE or IStructE.
• Experience developing robust and efficient structural solutions.
• Experience in structural design using relevant standards and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Apply technical excellence in the design of heavy civil structures, from pumping stations to large concrete works.
• Lead and oversee detailed design activities; mentor others and deliver designs.
• Challenge convention with innovative ideas and best practices to deliver client value.
• Lead the structural design of projects and support professional development and client relations.
• Interface with other design disciplines and communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders.
• Prepare and review drawings, calculations, specs and reports with high quality and accuracy.
• Ensure quality, compliance and efficiency in project deliverables.
