Job summary

AtkinsRéalis Group seeks a Principal Structural Engineer to establish and grow a Nottingham-based capability, leading the design of complex building structures and mentoring a local team. You will collaborate across Birmingham and Nottingham groups, building client relationships and contributing to regional growth.

The role offers hybrid working and opportunity to shape a Midlands-wide structures practice with a strategic leadership path into a Studio Lead role.

Qualifications

• Chartered Engineer (CEng) with MIStructE or MICE membership.
• Extensive post-graduate experience in building structures.
• Proven track record delivering projects from concept to construction.
• Experience leading structural delivery on medium to large projects.
• Strong knowledge of Eurocodes and British Standards.
• Proficient in structural analysis and design software.
• Strategic leadership with ability to build Nottingham team.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and delivery of building structures from concept to construction.
• Provide technical leadership across Midlands team and wider regions.
• Establish and grow the Nottingham structural engineering capability.
• Build client relationships and contribute to regional business growth.
• Lead and mentor engineers; manage project scopes, budgets and programmes.
