Job summary

AtkinsRéalis in Exeter is seeking an Associate Structural Engineer and Team Lead to establish, grow and direct our structural capability, building a new team within our multidisciplinary office. You will guide technical delivery across building structures projects, develop client relations in the Southwest, and lead a high-performing, collaborative team.

Chartered status and strong leadership are essential.

Qualifications

Chartered Civil or Structural Engineer qualification required.
Experience directing delivery of building structures projects from concept through design and construction.
Strong technical knowledge across structural materials, foundation design, structural assessment and standards.
Proven experience in project, design and commercial management within an engineering consultancy.
Experience leading and motivating engineering teams.

Responsibilities

Establish, develop and grow the structural engineering team in Exeter.
Provide technical guidance and assurance across structural engineering projects.
Steer multidisciplinary commissions to deliver quality, programme and commercial outcomes.
Review calculations, drawings and specifications.
Develop the technical capability and career progression of engineers.
Foster a collaborative, inclusive and high-performing team culture.
Identify opportunities and direct work-winning activities (fee proposals, bids, tenders).
Build and maintain strong client relationships.
