Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Principal Structural Engineer to establish and grow a Nottingham-based structural capability, with initial collaboration with Birmingham team and regional pipeline across MSWW.

You will lead design from concept to construction, build client relationships, mentor engineers, and drive a high-performance, sustainable design culture while expanding our regional presence.

Qualifications

• Chartered Engineer with MIStructE or MICE.
• Significant post-graduate experience in building structures.
• Proven track record delivering projects from concept through to construction.
• Experience leading structural delivery on medium to large projects.
• Strong knowledge of Eurocodes and British Standards.
• Strong commercial awareness and consultancy experience.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and delivery of building structures from concept to construction.
• Provide technical leadership across the Midlands team and wider MSWW region.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships and contribute to business growth.
• Mentor engineers and support recruitment as the Nottingham team grows.
