Job summary

Butcombe Group is seeking a dedicated Sous Chef to join our team across stunning UK pubs and inns. You will work closely with the Head Chef to ensure smooth, safe and efficient kitchen operations, while delivering exceptional dishes and presentation.

You’ll coach and mentor junior chefs, manage stock and kitchen compliance, and take the lead in the Head Chef’s absence. We offer flexible working, development opportunities and celebrate a culture of performance and care.

Qualifications

• Passion for cooking in a fast-paced kitchen.
• Ability to coach and mentor chefs to build capability.
• Experience in kitchen management and stock control.

Responsibilities

• Work alongside the Head Chef to ensure the kitchen runs smoothly, efficiently and safely.
• Support with food preparation, service and day-to-day kitchen management.
• Maintain high standards of food quality, consistency and presentation across every dish.
• Coach and mentor chefs within the team, sharing knowledge and building capability.
• Help manage stock, ordering and kitchen compliance.
• Lead in the Head Chef's absence and support wider kitchen development.
• Foster a positive, collaborative and high-performing kitchen culture.
