1912 Hotels, La Sala Sheffield, is seeking a confident Sous Chef to support the leadership of our kitchen. You will guide the brigade, maintain high food quality and deliver a consistently enjoyable dining experience in a lively restaurant environment.

You will work closely with the Head Chef, supervising sections, coaching staff and ensuring robust food safety and stock control. This hands-on leadership role offers development within a growing hospitality group.

Qualifikationen

• Proven experience as a Sous Chef or senior chef ready for next step.
• Strong practical cooking skills with experience managing a busy service.
• Confident leadership, communication and coaching abilities.
• Sound knowledge of UK food safety, allergens procedures and stock control.

Aufgaben

• Support the Head Chef in leading daily kitchen operations, preparation and service.
• Supervise, coach and motivate chefs across sections, setting clear standards and expectations.
• Ensure dishes are produced consistently, accurately and to the required presentation standards.
• Coordinate kitchen workflow and communication during busy services.
• Help manage ordering, deliveries, stock levels, portion control and food costs.
• Maintain robust food safety, allergen and hygiene procedures and records.
• Assist with rota planning, onboarding, training and team development.
• Contribute ideas for menu development, specials and operational improvements.
• Step into kitchen leadership responsibilities when the Head Chef is absent.
