Job summary

WSP is seeking an Engineer/Senior Engineer – E&P – Fixed Plant to lead rail engineering projects in the UK and beyond. You will head fixed plant design activities, mentor early career staff, and provide technical guidance to clients and internal teams, ensuring on‑time, within‑budget delivery.

You should bring chartership progress or completion, strong railway fixed plant experience, and a proactive, problem‑solving mindset aligned with industry standards and client expectations.

Qualifications

• Experience in the railway fixed plant discipline across multiple project stages.
• Chartered or working towards chartership with a relevant Institution.
• Ability to mentor and develop Early Career Professionals.
• Experience delivering across feasibility to detailed design and implementation.
• Understanding of client engineering assurance processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead fixed plant aspects within multi-disciplinary teams and resolve complex problems.
• Coordinate development of fixed plant designs across all design lifecycle stages.
• Provide technical advice to internal disciplines and clients.
• Manage client and stakeholder relationships to achieve project outcomes.
• Possess CRE capability or willingness to undertake CRE roles.
• Support and mentor junior engineers within the team.
