Job summary

WSP in the UK & Ireland seeks a professional systems engineer to join our rail integration teams. You will apply systems thinking on major infrastructure programmes, mentor Early Career Professionals, and help define projects with a focus on reducing risk and adding value.

This hybrid role offers Chartered status opportunities and a culture of innovation, inclusion, and continuous development across the UK.

Qualifications

• A degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
• Chartered status with a relevant professional body, or ability to achieve Chartered status soon.
• Post degree experience delivering systems integration in rail environments.
• Experience using systems engineering tools (e.g. DOORS) and MBSE techniques.
• Experience defining approaches to systems engineering on projects.
• Experience applying systems engineering tools on projects.
• Leads or mentors others on delivering systems engineering tasks.
• Background in client-facing roles and stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities

• Support project teams to solve complex integration problems on major infrastructure programmes.
• Lead tasks within a project environment and mentor other resources on larger projects.
• Demonstrate willingness to challenge clients and colleagues and mentor Early Career Professionals.
• Apply pragmatic systems thinking to reduce risk and add value on large systems projects.
• Support interval team development activities focused on business and technical development.
• Develop commercial awareness of your project and the broader business in a consultancy setting.
• Pursue knowledge and learning opportunities to determine the right approach to problems.
