Job description

This role is pivotal for someone passionate about transforming the landscape of digital banking through innovative payment solutions. As a Lead Product Manager, you will drive the entire product lifecycle of our payment offerings, from initial ideation to market launch and beyond. This position demands a strategic thinker with a keen insight into the United Kingdom payments and financial landscape, adept at navigating customer desires, scheme rules and regulatory frameworks to deliver cutting edge products and seamless payment experiences. Collaboration is at the heart of this role, requiring close partnership with a wide range of teams to materialise products that resonate with our mission and delight our customers.

  • Collaborate with your squad to design and deliver safe, reliable and delightful payment experiences across all customer facing channels.
  • Take ownership for the success of your payment products, managing the entire lifecycle from discovery, planning, build, go to market, as well as closely monitoring products post launch, consistently looking to improve their performance.
  • Define and own your backlog, making trade offs to deliver customer and business value on time and within agreed constraints.
  • Be an exponent of continuous discovery in the payments domain, persistently seeking to validate ideas that improve the customer experience, operational efficiency and risk controls through insights and innovation.
  • Transform big ideas, complex requirements and evolving regulation into well defined product specifications, user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Make data informed decisions and take hard calls when data is scarce, using insight, experimentation and sound judgement to move the product forward.
  • Work with the wider Payments and Product teams to drive and challenge product strategy, ensuring our payment product suite benefits customers and the business and aligns with the overall bank strategy.
  • Build and nurture relationships with key external partners and suppliers, including payment schemes, processors and technology vendors, to deliver both customer and business value.
  • Ensure your products remain compliant with relevant payment regulations and scheme rules, operate smoothly with high availability and resilience, and adopt best in class industry trends.
  • Achieve success with your payment products, including account to account payments, card payments and internal transfers, with clear goals and measures of success.
  • Lead a cross functional squad to conceive of, validate, design, build, test and launch impactful customer experiences that solve real payment related problems.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders across the many functions of the bank, including the leadership team, Product and Technology, Design, Marketing, Operations, Finance, Legal, Risk and Compliance, to ensure alignment and successful delivery.
  • Put the customer needs first, whilst achieving your objectives and ensuring Kroo remains compliant, secure and operationally robust in its payment flows.
  • Other duties as assigned to meet business needs.
