Job summary

Carrington West is seeking a Senior / Principal Process Design Engineer for major UK Water & Wastewater schemes. Hybrid work with potential travel to offices or sites, up to a fortnightly visit. You will lead feasibility through detailed design, delivering practical, buildable treatment solutions across multiple projects.

The role requires a Chemical Engineering degree and UK water sector experience, with responsibility for PFDs, P&IDs, specifications and multidisciplinary coordination.

Qualifications

• Chemical Engineering degree or equivalent
• Experience in UK Water/Wastewater sector
• Experience delivering process designs through full lifecycle
• AMP-related project experience in UK Water Authority
• Ability to coordinate with mechanical, electrical, civil and other disciplines

Responsibilities

• Deliver feasibility, optioneering, outline, detailed and final process design for Water and Wastewater projects
• Develop and evaluate process solutions for clean water and wastewater schemes
• Undertake process calculations and technical evaluations to support design development
• Produce and review PFDs, P&IDs, specifications and other design documentation
• Support hydraulic and process assessments for treatment infrastructure
• Review technical proposals, process designs and supplier submissions
• Take technical responsibility for process design work packages and smaller projects
