Job summary

SSEN Transmission is recruiting a Lead Principal Engineer – HVDC Plant to provide technical leadership across a portfolio of offshore projects valued around £30bn. You will drive standardisation, design improvements and ensure solutions meet regulatory and safety requirements.

You will lead a team of engineers, collaborate with partners and suppliers, and help advance HVDC technology within SSEN Transmission's offshore delivery programme.

Qualifications

• Degree in engineering discipline; Chartered status preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for HVDC Plant engineering across multiple offshore projects.
• Drive resolution of HVDC design issues, ensuring alignment with SSEN Transmission standards and regulations.
• Lead, mentor and develop a team of specialist engineers.
• Promote health, safety and environmental excellence in line with CDM, ESQCR and SSEN standards.
• Drive innovation and continuous improvement; engage with technology providers and industry forums.
