Join us as a Lead Portfolio Engineer or Portfolio Engineer and play a pivotal role in managing multi‑billion‑pound investment portfolios that power the UK’s energy transition.
These roles require a hybrid working approach, with flexibility to work from home, office, and occasional site visits. You’ll typically attend the office twice per month and travel as needed for stakeholder engagement.
As part of the Infrastructure Development team, you’ll ensure our capital investment portfolio is planned, governed, and delivered effectively.
In these roles, you’ll influence and shape national, regional and investment strategies for substation upgrades, overhead line reinforcements and cable replacements & installations, projects that underpin the UK’s energy transition. You’ll translate strategic objectives into actionable plans, ensuring our portfolio delivers maximum value while meeting regulatory commitments under RIIO‑T3.
You’ll bring strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence and negotiate effectively, complemented by excellent communication and business writing capability. An analytical mindset is essential, with a focus on problem‑solving and continuous improvement. From a technical perspective, you’ll have a solid understanding of capital investment planning and portfolio management principles, along with familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as RIIO and associated governance processes. Proficiency in data analysis and financial modelling tools will enable you to provide robust insights and support strategic decision‑making.
