Job summary

Boots Group in Scotland is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to deliver outstanding patient-centred service across communities. You will triage patients, coach the healthcare team, and provide expert technical advice on medicine supply.

You’ll lead a dispensary team, handle prescription handouts, ensure safe decision-making, and manage stock and controlled drugs while safeguarding patient safety. This role emphasises patient care and operational excellence at Boots.

Qualifications

• Registered with the relevant pharmacy regulator (GPhC/PSNI/PSI).
• Experience coaching and leading a dispensary team.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Motivation to deliver outstanding patient care and services.
• Ability to use pharmacy systems and technology.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert, tailored advice to patients about medicines and products.
• Deliver services depending on store needs and patient care requirements.
• Coach and inspire the pharmacy team to deliver high standards of care.
• Assist with triage of patients and distribution of prescription handouts.
• Own legal, safe, and ethical decision-making in the pharmacy.
• Manage stock replenishment, workload, orders, and handling of controlled drugs while protecting patient safety.
