Job summary

Boots Pharmacy in Scotland is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to deliver patient-centred service, coach dispensary staff, and provide expert advice on medicines and service delivery. You will triage patients, manage prescription handouts, and ensure safe, ethical decision-making in a busy retail pharmacy environment.

The role involves stock and workflow management, plus coaching the team to maintain high standards of care, with opportunities to develop within Boots’ broader leadership paths.

Qualifications

• Registered with the relevant pharmacy regulator (GPhC, PSNI, PSI).
• Experience or willingness to coach and lead a dispensary team.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Motivation to improve patient care and team performance.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert, tailored advice to patients about medicines and services.
• Deliver services as needed by the store.
• Build strong relationships with the pharmacy team and coach them to a high standard of care.
• Assist with patient triage and distribution of prescription handouts.
• Make safe, legal and ethical decisions in the pharmacy.
• Manage operations: stock replenishment, workload management, order fulfilment, and handling controlled drugs with patient safety in mind.
