Job summary

A trusted not-for-profit organization in Greater London seeks an experienced Payroll Manager to lead a friendly team. Responsibilities include managing payroll for about 400 employees, ensuring compliance with legislation, and driving continuous improvements. The ideal candidate will have strong payroll management experience, knowledge of UK pensions, and leadership skills. The role offers hybrid work with 3 days in the office and 2 at home.

Qualifications

  • Experience in managing payroll for a substantial number of employees.
  • Knowledge of UK payroll and pension compliance.
  • Ability to lead and mentor a team.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage end-to-end payroll for c.400 employees.
  • Mentor and support two Payroll Officers.
  • Ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely BACS submissions.
  • Oversee pensions including LGPS and auto-enrolment.
  • Identify and implement process improvements.

Skills

Strong end-to-end payroll management experience
Excellent UK payroll and pension legislation knowledge
Leadership experience within a medium/large organisation
Detail-oriented
Proactive and confident communicator
