Job summary

Leonardo UK Ltd is recruiting a Project Engineering Lead in the Basildon area to drive the engineering content of Future Seeker programmes. The role requires leading multi-disciplinary teams and ensuring delivery meets customer requirements, contractual terms, and safety standards.

You will report to a Project Engineering Manager, contribute to monthly governance, and support business-winning activities while fostering strong relationships with engineering leads and external partners.

Qualifications

• Educated to a degree level in an engineering-related subject (essential)
• Experience leading multi-disciplined engineering teams (essential)
• Experience managing low Technology Readiness Level (TRL) research programmes (essential)
• Strong understanding of engineering lifecycles and processes (essential)
• Experience in hardware electronics, firmware and mechanical products (desirable)
• Experience collaborating with external partners (desirable)
• Experience in defence or aerospace (desirable)

Responsibilities

• Delivery of overall engineering output on multiple projects within time, cost and performance budgets.
• Generate clear engineering plans, milestones and identify risks and inter-dependencies.
• Prepare and communicate monthly engineering status reports to line manager.
• Coordinate input into bids as part of the business winning process.
• Line manage a multi-disciplinary team and develop engineers' careers.
