Job summary

Leonardo UK Ltd. is seeking a Project Engineering Manager for the Test Engineering team in Basildon to lead cross-functional test capability development and delivery within ISP sectors. You will guide a multi-disciplinary group, align with senior technical leads, and ensure requirements are met with robust documentation and risk mitigation.

The role emphasizes leadership, strategic planning, and collaboration with customers and internal authorities, with hybrid working and a permanent contract.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent experience in Science/Technology/Engineering/Math.
• Experience creating and executing engineering plans for test solutions.
• Ability to translate requirements into test strategies and plans.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Experience managing multi-disciplinary engineering teams and budgets.

Responsibilities

• Establish forward load requirements and expand the multi-disciplinary team as needed.
• Manage day-to-day tasks of the engineering team and ensure clear roles.
• Foster strong relationships with customers and partners to deliver capability.
• Maintain clear internal communication across Engineering IPTs and with leads and managers.
• Coordinate with Design Authorities to track progress, risks and mitigation.
• Ensure designs meet end-user requirements, reliability, and documented environments.
• Control configuration and change processes to maximise re-use and compliance.
• Oversee supplier management and make/buy decisions.
