Job summary

Leonardo in Basildon is seeking a Project Engineering Lead to head the Test Engineering team across Land CEMA, Mission Systems and Sensors. The role focuses on developing and sustaining test capabilities, aligning with the Product Maturity and Capability Roadmap, Production Needs and Support requirements.

You will lead a multi-disciplinary team, coordinate with the Technical Lead and customers, and drive technical progress while maintaining schedule and budget.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Engineering aspects of test engineering projects, ensuring technical quality, schedule and budget.
• Manage day-to-day project tasks of a multi-disciplinary engineering team, ensuring roles are clearly defined.
• Establish and maintain relationships with customers and partners to deliver project capability.
• Communicate progress, risks and mitigations to Design Authorities and Systems Design Authorities.
• Ensure design solutions meet milestones and align with product road map.
• Oversee change control and configuration management to maximise design reuse.
• Support management of suppliers and project execution.
• Make or buy decisions as appropriate.
• Capture candidate concept solutions and document trade-off studies.
