Job summary

Babcock at HM Naval Base Clyde, near Helensburgh, Argyll and Bute, is seeking an Engineering Support Operative to provide multi-skilled support across waterfront operations. The role is full-time, 36 hours per week, on site, contributing to vessels, equipment and waterfront facilities remaining operational and safe.

You will work in a fast-paced engineering and operational environment, follow procedures, support continuous improvement, and adhere to health, safety and environmental requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience in waterfront, marine, maritime, engineering, industrial or operational support activities.
• Knowledge of standard operating procedures and safe working practices.
• Understanding of health, safety and environmental requirements in operations.
• Experience with quality assurance processes and standards.
• Familiar with manual handling and risk assessment principles.

Responsibilities

• Support waterfront operations to ensure tasks are completed safely and on schedule.
• Follow established procedures and safe systems of work while maintaining high standards.
• Contribute to continuous improvement to enhance processes and productivity.
• Work in accordance with health, safety and environmental requirements on site.
• Perform various operational and engineering support activities within your training.
