Job summary

GE Vernova seeks a Valve Converter Electrical Project Delivery Team Manager to lead a sub-team at the HVDC Centre of Excellence in Stafford, UK. The role blends hands-on electrical design with leadership of 5–6 engineers, delivering tendered electrical documents and site pre-commissioning tests for converters.

The ideal candidate combines degree-level electrical engineering, high-power converter experience, and strong project leadership, with willingness to travel for collaboration and client

Qualifications

• Educated to degree level in electrical or electronic engineering.
• Significant experience in Power Electronics Converter design.
• Advanced understanding of power semiconductors, their control, protection and application.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for Valves design to size converter valve and cooling plant for tender and project.
• Responsible for Valves type test documentations by using design tools.
• Responsible for Valves site electrical pre-commissioning test documents and approve of test results for correct performance of converters valve on site.
• Schedule and forecast the team's work, define priorities and resource management.
• Team and people development through knowledge sharing and mentoring.
• Foster an environment of knowledge sharing, mentoring, developing within the team.
• Effectively communicates throughout internal and external functions, and clients.
• Review and approve technical documents and ensure on time delivery.
• Lead team in solving challenging technical issues.
