Job summary

Linxon Birmingham is seeking a Principal Design Engineer/Lead Engineer to lead turnkey HV GIS/AIS substation projects. You will provide technical leadership across internal and remote design teams, ensuring on-time, on-spec delivery with QA/QC and HSSE compliance.

The role requires a bachelor or master’s in electrical engineering, extensive HV substation experience, and strong skills in layouts, grounding, transformer systems, and system studies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or master’s in electrical engineering or equivalent.
• Extensive HV substation engineering experience for utilities.
• Knowledge of modern substation technology and design.
• Proven leadership of technical engineering teams on large turnkey projects.

Responsibilities

• Technical lead of engineering team for turnkey substations from start to as-built.
• Coordinate with remote design teams, discipline leaders and project team.
• Ensure on-time, quality design packages with QA/QC and HSSE compliance.
• Lead design reviews and interface with customers and suppliers.
