Job summary

Linxon is seeking a Principal Engineer for Middleton, London and Chelmsford to lead HV substation projects with turnkey delivery. You will coordinate the design team, manage budgets, and provide forecasts to complete estimates, contributing to on-schedule project performance.

The role requires extensive HV substation experience for utilities, knowledge of transmission/distribution practices, and excellent communication across stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or master’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
• Extensive experience in HV substation for utilities.
• Knowledge of Transmission or Distribution practices (400kV to 11 kV).
• Fluency in English – both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the design team across all disciplines.
• Liaise with the Project Director on engineering budgets and provide forecast cost to complete estimates.
• Manage the programme and interface with planning engineers for design.
• Coordinate with the Principal Design Engineer for design submission and reviews.
• Support risk and opportunity assessments and implementation of actions.
• Shape and deliver solutions with customers to drive improvements.
