Job summary

Linxon seeks a Lead Engineer / Principal Designer Electrical - CDAE in Birmingham, UK, to lead the engineering for turnkey HV GIS/AIS substations. You will coordinate with remote design teams and the project team to ensure high-quality outputs on time and within contract specs.

Expertise in HV substations, strong leadership, and effective communication are essential. Travel up to 25% and collaboration with customers and suppliers are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or master’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent CDAE qualification.
• Extensive experience in HV substation engineering for utilities.
• Ability to lead technical engineering teams on large turnkey substation projects.

Responsibilities

• Technical lead of Linxon engineering team allocated to the project.
• Manage all engineering activities from project start to As-Built stage.
• Coordinate with local & remote teams and contractors to ensure on-time, quality design deliveries.
• Lead design review meetings and hazard reviews as required by the project.
• Support commissioning, start-up and site queries with documentation.
• Identify and manage design changes per contract processes.
