Lead Gas Engineer

Description

As part of our Emergency Response Team, you’ll be the first on the scene at customers’ homes, making you the face of our brand for those worried about potential gas escapes or carbon monoxide alarms.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond to emergency situations, often working alongside emergency services, to protect lives and property.
• Assist vulnerable, elderly, or distressed customers, providing reassurance and practical help.
• Perform installation, replacement, and maintenance of gas meters for residential and commercial clients.
• Conduct high-rise and gas safety regulation surveys.
• Fit cooker safety valves and undertake testing, purging, and commissioning of pipework.

This role is varied; no two days are the same, offering a dynamic work environment.

Experience and Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills and ability to stay calm under pressure.
• CCN1 or CMA1 qualification is required.
• MET1 qualification is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Experience working with gas appliances, including testing, purging, and pipework commissioning.
• Understanding of relevant Standards, Legislation, Codes of Practice, and Health and Safety.
• Full UK driving licence.
