Job summary

Agincare is recruiting an Ofsted Registered Manager to lead our new not-for-profit Childrens Services Residential Home in York. You will oversee day-to-day operations, support workers and senior staff, and set the standard for outstanding care for children with learning disabilities.

As the senior leader, you will ensure safeguarding, regulatory compliance, and the development of care plans while building a positive, inclusive team culture.

Qualifications

• Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (England) or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years experience in childrens residential care, including at least 3 years in a managerial or leadership role.
• In-depth knowledge of safeguarding, Ofsted regulations, and relevant legislation in childrens services.
• Experience in planning and implementing care plans and maintaining documentation to a high standard in line with Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards.
• Experience supporting children and young people with learning disabilities who may display complex behaviours.
• Experience leading Ofsted home inspections.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage and support teams of Support Workers and Senior Support Workers across the home.
• Oversee day-to-day operations of the residential home and ensure high-quality care.
• Develop and embed the new service, ensuring regulatory compliance and safeguarding.
• Maintain documentation and care planning to required standards.
• Act as corporate parent to the children in placement.
