Amey is seeking a permanent Principal Building Structures Engineer to join the Advisory team in Consulting across the UK. You will lead a team delivering technically sound structural designs for built environment projects, including multi-discipline work with on-site involvement when required.

The role emphasizes leadership, client engagement, managing budgets, and bid support. Knowledge of Structural Eurocodes and Tekla tools, plus Chartered status, is highly valued; nuclear sector exposure is

Qualifications

• Experience leading a small team of engineers and technicians.
• Familiarity with Structural Eurocodes and Building Regulations.
• Proficient in 3D CAD software including Tekla.
• Experience managing quality and programme performance across schemes.
• Engagement with clients and stakeholders on project delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team delivering technically sound engineering designs and documentation.
• Prepare and check designs, calculations, drawings and deliverables.
• Manage project budgets and costs for deliverables.
• Liaise with client and supplier representatives and attend progress meetings.
• Contribute to bids and business development activities.
• Work on site on visiting or full-time temporary basis, including out-of-hours.
• Occasionally assume people management responsibilities when needed.
