Job description

A client within the Public Sector based in the South East of England is currently recruiting for a Landscape and BNG Works Manager to join their Natural Environment team as soon as possible. The client is offering a part-time, temporary position on an ongoing basis with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority within a parks and green spaces environment.

The Role

Key purpose of the role is to lead a multidisciplinary team in the delivery of parks enhancement and investment projects, including infrastructure, landscape, and Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) / habitat enhancements, with engagement from stakeholders and the wider parks community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Managing a complex programme of parks projects, including budgets, finance control, project timelines, and reporting.
  • Leading and developing a diverse project team to deliver capital/refurbishment works and biodiversity enhancements.
  • Providing landscape architectural and BNG technical expertise and advice.
  • Liaising with stakeholder groups, local Councillors, and community members to develop proposals from inception to delivery.
  • Overseeing procurement, contract management, and delivery through in-house teams or external suppliers.
The Candidate

To be considered for this role you will require:

  • First degree or professional qualification in building construction, landscape architecture, infrastructure, or amenity horticulture.
  • Chartered or Incorporated membership of a relevant professional institution (if applicable) and/or Prince II project management methodology.
  • Proven experience managing external landscape projects and/or natural environment projects from inception to completion.

The below skills would be beneficial for the role:

  • Experience in parks or local authority environments, including biodiversity net gain initiatives.
  • Strong project management, budgeting, and contract management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders.
Compensation

The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering £30 per hour Umbrella LTD Inside IR35 (approx. £25 per hour PAYE).
