Overview

Our client is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join their laboratory team based in Rye. This role is ideal for a detail-focused individual with a strong commitment to health & safety, quality, and accurate analytical work within a regulated laboratory environment.

What’s on Offer

• Job type: Full time, permanent
• Location: New Romney
• Working hours: 08:00 - 16:30 (Monday - Friday) or 07:00 - 15:30
• Structured laboratory environment with ongoing training

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out routine and non-routine quality control analysis
• Operate laboratory equipment including GC, GCMS, XRF, IC, bomb calorimetry, titrations, Karl Fischer and hydrometers
• Interpret results and ensure materials meet required specifications
• Sign off and dispatch materials to customers
• Authorise receipt of loads onto site
• Complete accurate data entry and maintain laboratory records
• Perform safety-critical testing in line with procedures
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping and laboratory cleanliness
• Support wastewater management processes
• Communicate results clearly with internal departments
• Perform equipment calibrations and QC checks
• Identify and report non-conforming materials
• Support laboratory improvement projects and continuous improvement initiatives
• Promote health & safety and report near-miss incidents

Skills, Experience, and Training Requirements

• Strong communication skills
• Computer literate, with experience using Microsoft Excel and Word
• SAP knowledge desirable but not essential
• Hardworking and reliable
• Ability to multi-task and manage workload effectively
