Job summary

BT Group is seeking a Kubernetes Platform Engineer to design, implement and operate Kubernetes-based platform capabilities across the Network Cloud estate. This hands-on role combines platform development, automation, and operations to keep the managed service secure, scalable and reliable.

You will join a growing Platform Engineering team with opportunities to influence direction and shape cloud-native infrastructure at BT.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years experience building, deploying and operating Kubernetes platforms in a private cloud environment
• Hands-on experience deploying Kubernetes in production environments
• Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and/or Ansible
• Strong Linux administration and troubleshooting experience
• Strong networking fundamentals
• Experience with CI/CD and automation practices

Responsibilities

• Design, build and enhance Kubernetes platform capabilities within BT private cloud environments.
• Develop and maintain platform automation using Infrastructure as Code and software engineering best practices.
• Implement and improve deployment, upgrade and lifecycle management processes for Kubernetes clusters and supporting services.
• Integrate networking, monitoring, logging and security capabilities into the Kubernetes platform.
• Support platform reliability through proactive improvement and troubleshooting.
• Contribute to incident resolution and problem management activities for platform services.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and contribute to proof of concept activities.
• Support the transition of new platform capabilities into production and drive continuous service improvement.
