Job summary

Connex Education Partnership in Wigan is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support pupils in Key Stage 2. The role is full-time (5 days per week) during term-time with a September 2026 start date.

You will work under teachers to deliver engaging lessons, support individuals and groups, and help create a safe, nurturing classroom environment while promoting pupils’ development across social, emotional, and academic areas.

Qualifications

• Has experience working with primary-aged children.
• Patient, caring and flexible, with excellent communication skills.
• Can build positive relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues.
• Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Responsibilities

• Support learning and development of pupils across KS2 and adapt approach to suit different age groups and abilities.
• Assist planning and delivery of engaging lessons and activities.
• Provide targeted support for individuals and small groups, including children with additional needs.
• Help promote positive behaviour and a safe, nurturing classroom environment.
• Support pupils' social, emotional, and academic development.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, SENDCo, and support staff.
