Job summary

Connex Education Partnership in Wigan is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support pupils in Key Stage 2. The role is full-time (5 days per week) during term-time with a September 2026 start date.

You will work under teachers to deliver engaging lessons, support individuals and groups, and help create a safe, nurturing classroom environment while promoting pupils’ development across social, emotional, and academic areas.

  • Patient, caring and flexible, with excellent communication skills.
  • Can build positive relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues.

Teaching Assistant – Key Stage 2

We are seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic, and adaptable Teaching Assistant to join our friendly and supportive team, working in Key Stage 2. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys variety in their role and is passionate about helping children of all ages achieve their potential.

About the Role

Working under the guidance of class teachers, you will:

  • Support the learning and development of pupils across KS2, adapting your approach to suit different age groups and abilities
  • Assist with the planning and delivery of engaging lessons and activities
  • Provide targeted support for individuals and small groups, including children with additional needs
  • Help promote positive behaviour and a safe, nurturing classroom environment
  • Support pupils' social, emotional, and academic development

About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience working with primary-aged children (previous TA experience desirable but not essential)
  • Is patient, caring, and flexible, with excellent communication skills
  • Can build positive relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues
  • Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
