Job summary

Academics is seeking a Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistant for a welcoming primary school in Moreton, Wirral. The role involves providing KS2 learning and pastoral support, with a mix of classroom activities, small-group work, and targeted 1:1 assistance.

The ideal candidate will have TA experience in a primary setting, be patient and enthusiastic, and able to build strong relationships with pupils, staff and families. A focus on safeguarding, inclusion and pupil wellbeing is essential.

Qualifications

• Experienced in a Teaching Assistant role within a primary school.
• Confident supporting pupils as a Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistant.
• Experienced in, or knowledgeable about, supporting children with SEND.
• Patient, nurturing and able to build strong relationships with pupils.
• Positive and enthusiastic, with a genuine desire to make a difference.

Responsibilities

• Provide learning and pastoral support to pupils across KS2.
• Work with small groups within a dedicated nurture environment.
• Provide targeted 1:1 support to help an individual pupil access learning and school life.
• Support children with SEND and additional learning needs.
• Help pupils develop confidence, independence and positive relationships.
• Reinforce classroom learning through practical and engaging activities.
• Encourage positive behaviour and high expectations.
• Contribute to an inclusive, caring and supportive school environment.
• Work closely with teachers to ensure pupils receive appropriate support.
