Job summary

Academics Ltd in Warrington is seeking a dedicated Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistant to provide targeted 1:1 support for pupils with additional learning needs across our local junior school.

The role is part-time (26 hours per week, 4 days, 8:30am–3:30pm) with a temporary/fixed-term contract for 1 year, starting Autumn Term (September 2026). You will work closely with teachers to help pupils access the curriculum and build confidence.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children, preferably with additional or special educational needs.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to build trust with pupils, colleagues and parents.
• Ability to support pupils in accessing the curriculum and developing confidence.

Responsibilities

• Provide targeted 1:1 support for Key Stage 2 pupils with additional learning needs.
• Supervise and assist small groups of pupils inside and outside the classroom.
• Support pastoral care during parts of the school day, including lunchtime supervision.
• Collaborate with class teachers to develop literacy and numeracy skills.
