Job summary

Academics is seeking a Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistant in Moreton, Wirral, starting September 2026, to join a welcoming primary school. The role involves working primarily in KS2 with a mix of classroom-based learning, small-group activities and targeted 1:1 support within an inclusive, nurturing environment.

The ideal candidate will have primary school TA experience, be confident supporting KS2 pupils, and be committed to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Experience in a primary school TA role.
• Confident supporting KS2 pupils.
• Knowledge of SEND needs and inclusive practices.
• Patient and nurturing with pupils and families.
• Committed to safeguarding, inclusion and pupil wellbeing.

Responsibilities

• Provide learning and pastoral support to KS2 pupils.
• Support small groups in a dedicated nurture environment.
• Provide targeted 1:1 support to help a pupil access learning.
• Support children with SEND and additional learning needs.
• Help pupils develop confidence, independence and positive relationships.
• Reinforce classroom learning through practical activities.
• Encourage positive behaviour and high expectations.
• Collaborate with teachers to ensure appropriate support.
