Job summary

St Nicholas Church of England Primary Academy in New Romney is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support learning and wellbeing across KS2. The role is 25 hours per week, term time only, with potential for more hours discussed at interview.

You will assist with planning, work in small groups, and help sustain a safe, inclusive classroom environment while supporting pupils with additional needs.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent Level 3
• Good standard of English and mathematics
• Passionate about helping children learn and succeed
• Patient, empathetic and committed to inclusive education
• Able to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
• Organised, proactive and a good communicator

Responsibilities

• Support teaching and learning in the classroom under the class teacher
• Work in small groups to help pupils access the curriculum
• Assist with planning and delivering learning activities
• Help maintain a safe, supportive and stimulating learning environment
• Support pupils with SEN, behavioural or emotional needs as required
• Contribute to assessments, record-keeping and reporting
• Supervise pupils during breaks and transitions
• Collaborate with teachers, parents and external agencies
