Job summary

St Edward's Church of England (Voluntary Aided) Primary School seeks a Teaching Assistant to work initially in Key Stage 2. The role is permanent, term-time only (39 weeks per year) with 32.5 hours per week and INSET days; start ASAP. Salary is £23,290-£23,623.

The successful candidate will support teachers, deliver targeted interventions and help children become confident, independent learners within a Christian ethos.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with primary-aged children in an educational setting.
• Level 2 qualification or above in Supporting Teaching and Learning, Childcare or related field.
• Good literacy, numeracy and communication skills.
• Understanding effective classroom support and targeted intervention.
• Strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting welfare of children.

Responsibilities

• Work alongside the class teacher to support high-quality teaching and learning.
• Support individuals and groups with effective questioning, modelling and scaffolding.
• Deliver targeted interventions and provide feedback on progress.
• Support learning across the curriculum, particularly reading, writing and maths.
• Use strategies to support children with additional needs and barriers to learning.
• Promote positive behaviour, resilience and attitudes to learning.
• Build positive relationships with children, colleagues and families.
